NEW Online Registration/Data Verification for 2018-2019
January 8, 2018 - Parkland School Division’s student registration process is changing, and these changes will affect both new and returning students. For the 2018-2019 school year, all Kindergarten to Grade 12 registrations will be conducted online through the Power Registration portal.
All parents will be required to complete this new online process each school year. New students must register online, while returning students will be receiving correspondence with further instructions prior to April 1, 2018. This replaces the old process where individual schools would send home printed data verification forms at the end of the school year (usually with report cards).
Kindergarten families will be the first to use the new online registration system beginning February 1, 2018.
Click here to register for Kindergarten in 2018 - 2019.
All other students from Grade 1-12 will be able to either register (new students) or verify their existing data (returning students) online, beginning April 1, 2018.
Data Verification/Bus Registration is Easy (Returning Students)
- Make sure you have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account.
- Check your inbox beginning for an email sent on April 1, 2018 from "PowerSchool Registration Support" <firstname.lastname@example.org> and follow the instructions.
(Note: you will receive one email for every student you have enrolled in a Parkland School Division school.)
Bus Registration Deadline
In order for your child to have his/her bus pass for the first day of school (Tuesday, September 4, 2018), bus pass applications must be received no later than 4:30pm, June 29, 2018 to be included in the routing process. Payment arrangements must be received through PSD’s online payment system (Acorn) or in the Division Office on or before August 10, 2018 to be eligible to ride the bus the first day of school. Any applications received after the application deadline may not be processed in time for the first day of school. If your child does not have a valid bus pass for the 2018-2019 school year, he/she will not be able to ride the bus.
It's very easy for a child to hop onto a bus in the morning and get to a transfer station. Staff can then direct children without a pass to the right bus to head to their correct school.
The reverse is not the same. Staff won't know which bus to put a child on once they get to the respective transfer sites during the afternoon runs, if they DO NOT have a pass that indicates which route goes back to their neighbourhood and which stop to get off including alternate stops for daycares, day homes, split custody or other guardianship arrangements for care after school.
In order to avoid children without passes riding an unknown bus and being stranded at the wrong transfer station parents of children who do not have a pass will have to make arrangements to pick up their children at school at the end of the day until passes have been processed.
The current PDF registration form that can be found on our Registration page is ONLY to be used by students registering for the balance of the current 2017-2018 school year. Paper registration forms WILL NOT be accepted for the 2018-2019 school year.
